We currently invite applications for the the job of REGISTRAR – ACADEMIC AND STUDENT AFFAIRS (NEW)

JOB SUMMARY 

This position reports to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs). The Academic Registrar shall be responsible for all the academic administration and operational functions of the Office of Registrar – Academic and Student Affairs. These include, but are not limited to student recruitment, admissions and registration, administration of examination processes, proper maintenance of student records, and organisation and oversight of graduation processes.

The successful candidate will operate from the Office of Registrar at the RAF international University Main Campus in Kisaju.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AND DUTIES

  1. Student Recruitment
  • Coordinate the student recruitment processes,and ensure accurate communicate of relevant informationtostudent applicants and their parents/guardians/sponsors to facilitate an efficient recruitment system.
  1. Students Admission
  • Admit students based on University admissions criteria, standards and policies.
  1. Student Registration
  • Organise and oversee efficient student registration processes.
  1. Programme administration, Time-tabling and Classroom allocations
  • Co-ordinate and ensure proper administration of courses for the various academic programmes.
  • Ensure the course outlines, timetables and examination schedules are prepared in line with the requirements of the University Curriculum.
  • Facilitate effective use of academic resources including classroom spaces.
  1. Organisation and Supervision of Examination Processes
  • Set regulations for proper examination administration and facilitate well-organised handling and transfer of examination materialadhering to the University regulations and policies.
  • Ensure that Examination Results are moderated, well documented and accurate before they are communicated to the students.
  1. Maintenance of Student Records
  • Ensure that student records are comprehensive, well-organised, secure and properly maintained.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity in issuance of student records.
  1. Organisation and Oversight of Graduation Processes
  • Organise and administer graduation functions, including preparation of certificates,academic transcripts and ensure efficient academic clearance of students.
  1. Academic Policy Implementation
  • Ensure that academic policies are implemented in line with regulations of the University.
  1. Other duties
  • Serve as secretary to the University Senate
  • Develop and administer the departmental budget.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned to him/her by the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic and Student affairs relevant to the Office of Registrar – Academic and Student affairs.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Efficient organisation and administration of academic systems.
  • Accuracy, integrity and efficient management of students’ records.
  • Effective systems of coordination of academic programmes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants with a Master’s degree in Education Management or relevant field- PhD is an added advantage
  • Experience in Education management preferably as a Registrar will be favored for the position.
